OUR MISSION

The mission of GALC is to reach and surpass a targeted grade level and master skills necessary for higher level achievement. We successfully enhance a student's knowledge, self-worth, and feelings about school related material. Students will not only excel in a chosen area, but will learn techniques which will enhance his/her school career for years to come. GALC is designed to alleviate today's academic pressures and provide successful experiences. Today's Departments of Education demand success and together, we will help children succeed.

OUR PURPOSE

The problem with today’s education is quite simple. Classrooms are overcrowded. Teachers are overworked. There are simply not enough hours in the academic day to complete the mandated curriculum with additional instruction of test taking skills, writing skills, and higher thinking skill fundamentals. GALC offers these skills accompanied by personalized attention and positive reinforcement. In addition to improved grades, test scores, study skills, and academic instructional levels, we are confident that our programs increase attitudes, self-esteem, motivation, positive behavior, and social skills.

GOAL

The goal of GALC is to surpass the classroom’s expectation and be the first to introduce new material to your child. We aim for the classroom to be the reinforcer of a skill already introduced, practiced, and mastered. Competitive tutorial services based on chronological pages in a textbook and/or age. GALC frowns upon pre-determined grade level material. The concept of receiving maximum results in minimal time requires us to build individual programs to meet your child’s needs. APPROACH

GALC’s approach is to target your child’s strength, rather than his/her weakness. We utilize your child’s existing knowledge to introduce new material. Unlike the traditional classroom setting. GALC limits each tutorial session to a maximum of two students. This approach enables your child to meet targeted objectives through a ratio not greater than two-to-two. Personalized programs are tailored to provide maximum results in minimal time. Academic subjects may be merged to promote writing, comprehension, and problem solving skills simultaneously. Our approach provides a personalized solution to a potentially intimidating academic career. Every child has the ability to succeed and GALC is designed for success.

HOME SCHOOL SERVICES

Grade A Learning Center offers home school programs based on local county school board curriculum requirements. Lesson plans, targeted objectives, and measured assessments are itemized and documented for school board conformity. Together with Grade A Learning Center, a home schooled child will build a personalized portfolio that will ensure academic success.

OUR OBJECTIVES

Objectives are dependent on the Program chosen:

• Students will increase his/her report card one letter grade in a specified category each quarter.
• Students will be adequately prepared for all standardized, norm, and criterion referenced tests.
• Students will demonstrate ample and exceeding knowledge of data in a specified academic area.
• Students will acquire the necessary skills to write an informative, persuasive, or expository essay.
• Students will experience feelings of self-worth and gain a positive outlook in what may be a frustrating situation.
