OUR PROGRAMS

Grade A Learning Center objectives are dependent on the program chosen:

  • Students will increase his/her report card one letter grade in a specified category each quarter.
  • Students will be adequately prepared for all standardized, norm, and criterion referenced tests.
  • Students will demonstrate ample and exceeding knowledge of data in a specified academic area.
  • Students will acquire the necessary skills to write an informative, persuasive, or expository essay.
  • Students will experience feelings of self-worth & gain a positive outlook in what may be a frustrating situation.

GALC offers numerous academic programs, each personalized to meet the specific needs of your child. 

Readiness Pre-K/Kindergarten Programs - This program specializes in Phonics, Mathematics, early childhood development, and social skills.  Our hands-on developmental program will build a solid foundation that guarantees success throughout your child's primary years.

Specific Academic Enhancement - GALC will alleviate the frustration your child may be experiencing in Mathematics, Reading, Comprehension, Phonics, Study skills, or other problematic area.

  • Elementary School Students - Choose from a specific program that best meets the needs of your child. Skills include Phonics, Reading fluency and comprehension, Mathematics, and Writing. 
  • Middle School Students - Programs range from specific subject tutorials to a collaboration of study skills with emphasis placed on Reading comprehension, Mathematics, Word problems, Writing, and Test taking strategies. 
  • High School Students - Programs range from specific subject tutorials to study skills and SAT/CRCT/HSCT Preparation.

Remedial Programs - This program utilizes creative, modality-based strategies designed to bring your child to his/her grade level in a time-efficient manner.  Problem solving skills together with basic skills are merged to achieve not only a boost in grades, but motivation as well.

Enrichment Programs - This program takes your child beyond his/her grade level.  Problem solving skills merged with real world applications are necessary for higher level achievement.  Enrichment programs are recommended to elevate standardized test scores.

Test Preparation - Test taking strategies and techniques are essential, yet often overlooked in today's overcrowded classrooms.  GALC suggests that test preparation be included in each tutorial session.

The Writing Process – Informative, Persuasive, and Expository writing techniques aid in the essay writing process. The five paragraph essay has never been so easy!  Your child will engage in writing techniques that strengthen introductions, topic and supporting detail sentences, and conclusions. 

Special Education - GALC is committed to fulfilling the specific goals and objectives as indicated on your child's Individual Education Plan (IEP).  If an IEP is not currently in use, one will be constructed, tailored specifically to your child's needs.

HomeSchool - GALC is pleased to provide home school support. Please see your Tutorial Director for further information. GALC is a proud resource of Gwinnett County.

Testing Center – GALC is proud to be an approved testing facility for the Stanford Achievement Test and Iowa Basic Skills Test. This is an essential for home school families.

Higher Education - GALC offers services up to and including College Algebra. GED Prep courses also available.
